How do I create an account on BongoChat?

Download BongoChat from the Google Play Store, open the app, and enter your phone number. You'll receive a verification code via SMS. Once verified, set up your profile name and photo, and you're ready to start chatting!

Is BongoChat free to use?

Yes, BongoChat is completely free to download and use. All core features — messaging, Moments, Stories, group chats, and QR connections — are available at no cost. There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or premium tiers required to access the main functionality of the app.

How secure is BongoChat? Are my messages encrypted?

Security is our top priority. BongoChat uses end-to-end encryption for all private chats and group conversations. This means only you and the person you're communicating with can read what is sent — not even BongoChat's servers can access your messages. We also never sell your data to third parties.

What is the difference between Moments and Stories?

Momentsare permanent posts that live on your profile, similar to a social media feed. Friends can like and comment on them.

Storiesare temporary photo or video updates that automatically disappear after 24 hours. Use Moments for lasting updates and Stories for quick, authentic daily glimpses.

How do I add friends using BongoQR?

Go to the Chats tab and tap the QR code icon in the top right. You can show your unique QR code for a friend to scan, or tap "Scan" to scan their code. Once scanned, you'll be instantly connected without needing to share phone numbers or search by username.

How do I earn and redeem Bongo Points?

You earn Bongo Points automatically through daily logins, active chatting, and posting Moments or Stories. Visit the "Bongo Points" section in your profile to view your balance and redeem them for available in-app perks, features, and exclusive offers.

Can I use BongoChat on multiple devices?

Currently, BongoChat is primarily designed for Android mobile devices to ensure the most secure and optimized experience. Your account is tied to your phone number for security purposes. We are exploring multi-device support for future updates.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account and associated data directly from the app by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Alternatively, you can submit a request through our Data Deletion Form on the website, or email us at[email protected].
